Disassembling Items from NPC Shops
You can obtain protective components by disassembling items bought from various NPC shops across Gielinor. If you’re an Ironman, you can use this method as one of the ways of getting protective components.
- Armors and shields from Zaff’s Superior Spellcasting, located in the northwest of Varrock Square.
- Armors and shields from Betty’s Magic Emporium, located in the northwest of Port Sarim.
- Armors and shields from White Knight Master Armoury, located on the third floor of the White Knights’ Castle. Requires Wanted! quest completion and White Knights rank of Master.
- Armors and shields from Lowe’s Archery Emporium, which is located east of the Varrock square.
- Insulated boots, can be bought from slayer masters.
Disassembling PVM Drops
You can disassemble the following loots from PVM activities to obtain protective components.
- Huge plated steel salvages and Huge plated iron salvages from Steel and Iron dragons. Steel and Iron dragons have a 100% chance of dropping huge plated salvages of their respective type. The dragons can be found in the southernmost section of the Brimhaven dungeon. Don’t forget to bring your Antifire potions for this one!
